I always saw this incomplete, half written draft about my experience applying to Outreachy internship, lying in one corner of my folder. At first I thought I should just delete it because I’m already done with the internship & I’ve already written my wrap-up post describing a little about my experience. But then I just couldn’t do it only.

Too tired to write a detailed technical blogpost today. So, will try to keep it short & simple, and just writing about some updates here.
I gave my first ever talk yesterday. It finally happened! (this is a note for myself :P).
I procastinated for how long I don’t even remember now. Even I don’t know if it was just procastination or was accompanied by my some more lame thoughts...

Yesterday, I wrote a post around writing custom GCP type providers.
That post basically provided a solution to one of the problems I faced while deploying a resource (a private dataproc cluster with a Presto installation on it) on GCP for which there was no official GCP type provider available.
Today’s post is just an extension with a similar use-case, where again, I needed to write a custom GCP type provider,...

A few weeks back, I was working on writing automation templates, for achieving a one click deployment of the entire Atlan stack, on Google Cloud Platform(GCP).
And writing automation templates here, basically, meant writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Here, the good part is that GCP has its own internal tool/software, called deployment-manager, for writing Infrastructure-as-Code(IaC). It supports automation using Jinja & Python templates.
I chose to write all my templates...

I was lazy!
And I didn’t write anything here (for a very long time, and I know it’s nothing good to brag about).
But because I should write for my own goodness,
I commit to writing on this blog at least for once every 2 weeks.
I know it’s doable, but I do break the streak very easily. I write with a nice frequency for a while and then stop it eventually...

I thought I should share it here. It might help someone like me. :)
Oh no, I’m not saying you’re not smart enough to get a job all by yourself, I just meant for someone who might be stuck because of some missing help.
So, I am pasting here one of my replies from the Outreachy zulip chat conversations.

Hi, I missed the chat. But I have an...

Just two of my thoughts that I want to quote here.
First
The best feeling!
When people come back to you and acknowledge your advice/guidance/help, by sharing their accomplishments.
(and, yes) by saying thank you. 🙂
And Second,
I’m publicly committing to not commit anything to the public.
I mean why I have to commit anything to the public?
The public won’t come back and push me forward when...

Okay, the final day of my outreachy internship! :)
It’s a mixed kind of feeling. I’m happy that I managed to finish what I aimed in the beginning, but a little sad too, as this (internship) run will end tommorrow.
But there is this fact that Now, I am a part of GNOME Foundation, makes me the most happiest. This is the sole reason why I applied to Outreachy. I wanted...

Logging the date!
Finally, a looong desired thing happened, after a wait of 6 looong entire years. 🎉️
I thank myself! (because I asked)

Task for the week:
Progress of the day:
This week started on a good note. I spent the first 2 days working on the final nitpicks for the UI of the widget.
Today, I added CSS rules for creating a border around the “search entry and buttons grid”.
Also, I corrected the...
